🇬🇧 English translation follows the Japanese text below.

It’s getting colder, and we also wanted our new resident couple (a Hungarian couple who are enrolled at a UK university but currently studying abroad at Kobe University) to enjoy some “traditional Japanese cuisine” (lol), so we threw a nabe hot pot party! Napa cabbage still wasn’t cheap yet, but oh well. It had been a while since we did a big-group nabe night!
On the menu that night: mille-feuille nabe, with layers of napa cabbage alternating with pork.
This is really what’s great about share house life — everyone had a blast together 😊

  • A big group of housemates raising their glasses around the dinner table

  • The hot pot, cabbage and drinks spread out across the table

  • Close-up of the mille-feuille nabe simmering with layered cabbage and pork

  • Housemates crowded around the hot pot table, cheering and throwing peace signs

After the nabe, we moved on to game night, which has been happening more and more often in the house lately. That night we played Dobble, a new reflex-based game we just bought, along with Hanabi, which the couple brought over with them from Hungary.
