料理の準備を１５時から始めて、皆で手分けして水道筋商店街で買い物や調理。ハンガリーカップルの彼氏ピーターが料理男子なのでハンガリーとイギリスの家庭料理を提案してくれていっぱい作りましたよ（複数メニューのレシピをPCで書き出して材料の購入量を真剣に決めてた）。

かぼちゃのスープはシンプルなのに高級料理店のような味で美味しかったです😆。そして日本料理を代表する一品としてたこ焼きも（笑）。あんまりうまく焼けなかったけどまあいいか。

そして年末で残念ながら退去になってしまうJ君の送別会も兼ねてたので、クイズで宝探しをさせてプレゼント！（あげた写真は当日のものをリアルタイムでコンビニでネット印刷）。喜んでもらってよかった。
パーティのあとは、お風呂の順番を決めるための恒例あみだくじもね。

To make it easier for everyone to fit it into their schedules, we held our Christmas party a little early, on the weekend of the 22nd. The living room was packed, with former residents joining in too.

Cooking prep started at 3pm, with everyone splitting up to shop and cook, heading out to Suidosuji shopping street for ingredients. Peter, the boyfriend from our Hungarian couple, is quite the cook, so he suggested we make a spread of Hungarian and British home cooking — and boy did we make a lot (they even typed up recipes for several dishes on a laptop and seriously calculated how much of each ingredient to buy).

The pumpkin soup was simple but tasted like something from a fine restaurant — so good 😆. And representing Japanese cuisine, we also had takoyaki (of course). They didn’t come out perfectly round, but hey, good enough.

Since it was also a bit of a farewell party for J, who’s sadly moving out at the end of the year, we set up a treasure-hunt quiz and gave him a present! (The photos we gave him were from that very day, printed in real time at a convenience store’s online printing service.) Glad he was happy with it. After the party, we also did our usual amidakuji lottery draw to decide bath order.
